Public Observatory Event

The public is invited to view the Dumbbell Nebula at the Missouri University of Science and Technology Observatory. This nebula (also known as Apple Core Nebula). It is a planetary nebula in the constellation Vulpecula, at a distance of about 1,360 light-years. The sky must be clear for observing and session length will vary. Each observing session is open-ended. Children are welcome to attend but must be accompanied by an adult. All visitors must be able to ascend a short set of stairs to view the object through the telescope. To be added to the event reminder and cancellation notification email list, click here.
