Women in Business Seminar (Second Annual)
Learn and connect at second annual Women in Business seminar
ROLLA, Mo. – In recognition of Women’s History Month, women in business, women business owners and women entrepreneurs are invited to attend the second annual Women in Business seminar hosted by the Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC) at Missouri University of Science and Technology and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) St. Louis District Office.
Attendees will learn about “Mindfulness in Marketing” from keynote speaker Kim Beer, a national advocate for entrepreneurship and small business marketing. Beer has been an entrepreneur for over 25 years and recently celebrated 22 years as president of the small business marketing firm Midnight Productions Inc. In addition to being a speaker, marketing coach and entrepreneur, Beer is a professional equine photographer, artist, ranch owner, published fiction author and poet.
Beer will speak on the importance of combining a mindfulness approach with the right marketing tactics for a digital age.
“It’s a noisy marketplace out there,” says Beer. “Businesses need to hone their marketing messages to successfully compete. Mindfulness in marketing is about becoming conscientiously aware of what really triggers customers to purchase, remain loyal and provide powerful referrals,” says Beer.
Several breakout sessions and networking time will give attendees a chance to learn more and connect with others. Topics include resources that are available for small business and information from experts in the field about marketing, insurance, legal and more. While the event is focused on women, anyone may attend.
The Women in Business seminar will be held 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 15, at Columbia College Auditorium, 550 Blues Lake Parkway in Rolla, Missouri. Registration is required. Register online at rollawomen.eventbrite.com. Seminar cost is $10 and includes lunch.
