 Science\, Technology and Society invites proposals for paper presentations
 \, poster sessions\, and panel discussions for the Spring 2024 conference\
 , Artificial Intelligence and You: The Social and Human Dimensions of AI. 
 \n\n \n\nWith the rise of the use of generative AI in most facets of human
  life\, scholars\, practitioners\, and the general public should pause fre
 quently to ask questions about the technologies that humans are rapidly al
 lowing to have more and more agency over our daily lives. \n\n \n\nWhat is
  AI? What does it mean to be artificial? How is intelligence created? What
  are the advantages and disadvantages  when data gathered by artificial in
 telligence impacts human decision-making in areas such as healthcare\, per
 sonal security\, or consumerism? What do you do when your smart device tel
 ls you to breathe or move or sleep and what does this suggest about the fu
 ture of human agency? \n\n \n\nAbstracts should be 250 words or less and s
 hould deal with almost any theme(s) about AI\, including\, but not limited
  to:\n\n\n \n\nDevelopment of AI itself\n\nEthics\n\nPolicy\n\nImplementat
 ion\n\nCommodification of human data Developing models\n\nBiomarkers and i
 mpacts on human behavior\n\nEducation\n\nHistorical contexts\n\nSocial dim
 ensions\n\n \n\nThe conference will be held on the campus of Missouri S&T 
 in Rolla\, Missouri. Thursday evening\, April 25\, Dr. Joy Lisi Rankin (NY
 U and the Center for Responsible AI)\, will present a keynote talk\, with 
 a welcome reception after. Friday all day and Saturday morning will compri
 se the paper\, poster\, and panel sessions. Students are particularly enco
 uraged to participate.\n\n \n\nSubmit abstracts by March 1st\, 2024  using
  this Google form by March 1. Be sure to include all the information reque
 sted. \n\nPapers will be 15 minutes long\, with 5 minutes for questions. \
 n\nPanel proposers need to submit a panel abstract as well as the names/ti
 tles/abstracts of all the 15-minute papers in the panel (max of 4). The pa
 nel proposer will be responsible for communicating with the other panelist
 s concerning acceptance and registration. \n\nPoster presenters will need 
 to be at their poster for at least an hour (to be scheduled) for discussio
 n\; posters will be on display the entire conference.\n\n\nIf you have any
