DESCRIPTION:The Campus Performing Arts Series at Missouri S&T continues Sun
 day with “Astronaut Group 1\,” bringing the early years of space explo
 ration to the stage.\n\n“Astronaut Group 1” tells the story of the Mer
 cury Seven\, an elite group chosen from among hundreds of military test pi
 lots to be America’s first astronauts. From the exhilaration of Alan She
 pard’s first moments in space to the adrenaline rush of John Glenn makin
 g split-second decisions to survive re-entry\, the audience gets to share 
 in the thrills of early space exploration.\n\nBefore the show\, a selectio
 n of artifacts and documents from Project Mercury will be on display in Ca
 stleman Hall\, including a training helmet\, operator’s manual and more 
 provided by the Space Museum and Grissom Center in Bonne Terre\, Missouri.
  A rover built by Missouri S&T’s Mars Rover Design Team will also be dis
 played before the show. \n\nTickets are $25 for the public\, $20 for Misso
 uri S&T faculty and staff\, and $5 for youth ages 18 and younger and Misso
 uri S&T students.
