Biotechnologies continue to be developed for the environment largely due to the diverse metabolic capabilities of microorganisms, sustainability, and low application costs. Topics covered in this presentation include an emerging biotechnology to address methane (a potent greenhouse gas) leaking from oil and gas wells, changes to mulching operations to address metals impacted groundwater in Long Island, New York, and developing technologies for groundwater impacted with organic and inorganic contaminants.
