This session, presented by Dr. Thu Tran, focuses on exploring the nexus of language and culture and ways to foster effective communication across cultures. 

Dr. Thu Tran is an assistant teaching professor in the Department of English and Technical Communication at Missouri S&T. Since joining the university in 2012, he has served in various roles. He was the manager of the Applied Language Institute/Intensive English Program and the Graduate Teaching Assistant Program. He has worked with students from nearly 50 different countries over the last two decades. The extensive interaction with international students has aroused his research interest in effective communication across cultures.
