Ugochukwu Ewuzie is a third-year Ph.D. candidate in Chemical Engineering at Missouri S&T and a Kummer Innovation & Entrepreneurship Doctoral Fellow. His presentation is titled, “Sustainable Use of Waste-Derived Materials in Cementitious Systems: Mechanistic and Performance-Based Evaluation for Infrastructural Applications.” His current research focuses on environmental sustainability; specifically, he explores the valorization of waste materials towards sustainable infrastructure. He is also a part of the Missouri S&T team working on a NASA-sponsored Multi-University Leadership Initiative project on “reducing emissions and environmental impact of civil supersonic transport,” where he serves as co-chair of the student leadership council.
