The Intelligent Systems Center (ISC) and Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation (OVCRI) will co-host a seminar on Friday 11/18 at noon featuring Dr. Mehdi Ferdowsi.

Abstract for the seminar:
Dr. Mehdi Ferdowsi, interim associate dean for research in Missouri S&T's College of Engineering and Computing, will share his experiences as a program director at the National Science Foundation (NSF) Division of Engineering Education and Centers. He will also discuss some of the inner workings of the NSF Engineering Research Center program.
About the Speaker:
Dr. Ferdowsi joined Missouri S&T in 2004. In addition to his role as interim associate dean, he is a professor of electrical and computer engineering and an ISC investigator. His research focuses on power electronics, energy storage, smart grid, vehicular technology and wide-bandgap devices. He received an NSF CAREER Award in 2007.
