Please join us for the Kummer Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E) Doctoral Fellow research presentation panel on Wednesday, April 13 from 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. in the Physics-104 room. The Kummer Institute for Student Success, Research, and Economic Development’s Kummer Student Programs will host students, staff, faculty, and alumni on academies as three Kummer I&E Doctoral Fellows provide a brief overview of their research followed by a Q&A with the audience. Light refreshments will be served.
The presentations will feature the following research concentrations:
- Improving Extreme Event Disaster Preparedness and Response in Developing Countries - Creating a systematic approach to helping developing countries, more specifically island nations like those in the Caribbean, better prepare for and recover from natural disasters and finding the most effective approach to an unpredictable issue with limited resources. - Development of a Wire-Feed Metal Deposition Cell – Developing the system, the integration of control structures, and the development of material testing procedures in metal additive manufacturing, with a focus on wire-based laser metal deposition (LMD-w). (Remy Mathenia, Mechanical Engineering)
- Does Nanofluid Really Enhance Heat Transfer? A single-phase effective property modeling of turbulent convective heat transfer in annular pipe. (Mehedi Tusar, Nuclear Engineering)
