In 2017, the United Kingdom (UK) National Infrastructure Commission launched a national digital twin initiative as envisioned in their Data for the Public Good report. During the evolution of their digital twin initiative, the UK construction industry saved $1.1 billion in 2014 just by sharing information. Since 2018, the concept and development of digital twins have been significantly advanced worldwide, as demonstrated by an increase in publications. To capitalize on national and international interests and opportunities, this mini-symposium will brainstorm the research agenda that the state of Missouri can drive or contribute to boost research, innovation, and the regional economy.

Organized by the Center for Intelligent Infrastructure, the Center for Infrastructural Engineering Studies, and the Center for Science, Technology, and Society at Missouri S&T.
