 s Missouri generals. Black Jack Pershing led the American Expeditionary Fo
 rces to victory in World War I\, Omar Bradley led U.S. Army troops in Worl
 d War II Europe\, and Maxwell Taylor served as commander of the 101st Airb
 orne Division from Normandy through the end of World War II. All three ser
 ved as Army chief of staff and two as chairman of the joint chiefs of staf
