The finalists of the Schearer Prize competition for graduate research will present their projects. The competition is held in memory of Laird D. Schearer, the department’s first Curators' Distinguished Professor of physics. In keeping with Schearer's longtime interest in enhancing the quality of research performed at the university, the Schearer Prize rewards graduate students studying physics for outstanding research performed during the course of their graduate study.
