About this Event
1401 N. Pine St., Rolla, MO 65409
Lisa Jaster, MS CE’04, has been invited to speak at Missouri S&T to an open audience and our senior seminar class this semester. Her talk titled “Never Letting the Quit In” will begin at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Oct 15, in Room 125 Butler-Carlton Hall. If you are unable to attend in person, please join us over Zoom at https://umsystem.zoom.us/j/91408515220.
Lisa will discuss why people’s adjectives aren't their destinies and how she didn't confine herself to the adjectives of "middle-aged" or "female" when becoming one of the first three women to graduate from the United States Army Ranger Program. She kept going through many challenges, never quitting, and demonstrating her fortitude as a Ranger.
Jaster graduated from West Point with her bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and later earned her master’s degree in civil engineering from Missouri S&T. She served as an Army Engineer from 2000-07, and today she continues to serve in the U.S. Army Reserve as an Engineer Officer. During her time in the military, Jaster deployed three times and was the first female Army Reservist to graduate from Ranger School. Her corporate career includes time as a project manager for Royal Dutch Shell, director of civil engineering for M&S Engineering, executive coaching, and now program manager for Team Housing Solutions.
